Job Title: Data Center Manager – Law Firm
Location: Midtown Manhattan, NYC (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Data Center Manager
to provide both technical leadership and hands-on expertise in the firm’s data center environment. This role is split between 50% technical engineering
and 50% management/leadership, overseeing on-premises infrastructure while guiding the firm’s migration toward hybrid cloud. The manager will play a critical role in ensuring uptime, security, and compliance for core applications, including iManage (on-prem), Microsoft Exchange (currently migrating to the cloud), and Citrix DaaS.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical (50%)

Manage and maintain on-premises infrastructure: servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and backups.

Oversee iManage document management system (on-prem) and ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Support and troubleshoot Exchange on-prem and cloud coexistence during migration to Microsoft 365.

Provide oversight and technical input into the firm’s Citrix DaaS migration/implementation, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.

Implement and monitor disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.

Perform capacity planning, patch management, and system upgrades.

Maintain detailed documentation of technical configurations, runbooks, and procedures.
Management (50%)

Lead a small team of systems/infrastructure engineers, providing mentorship and direction.

Oversee day-to-day operations of the firm’s primary and DR data center environments.

Manage vendor relationships, including hardware, software, and co-location service providers.

Coordinate change management, incident response, and root cause analysis for infrastructure issues.

Partner with IT leadership to align data center and Citrix strategies with the firm’s technology roadmap.

Contribute to budgeting, cost optimization, and resource planning for infrastructure investments.

Ensure compliance with firm security policies and client-driven requirements (audits, ISO, SOC, etc.).
Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in data center or infrastructure operations, with 3+ years in a leadership or manager role.

Hands-on expertise with Windows Server, VMware vSphere, Active Directory, and enterprise storage systems.

Experience with iManage (on-prem) or similar DMS platforms required.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Exchange (on-prem and cloud migration to O365).

Exposure to Citrix environments (Citrix Cloud, Virtual Apps & Desktops, or DaaS projects).

Familiarity with backup/recovery tools, monitoring platforms, and disaster recovery planning.

Understanding of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, firewalls, DNS/DHCP).

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage attorneys, business leaders, and technical staff.

Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.

Relevant certifications (VMware, Microsoft, Citrix, ITIL, PMP) are a plus.
Work Arrangement:

Hybrid: 3 days onsite in Midtown Manhattan, 2 days remote.

Must be available for occasional after-hours work related to upgrades, migrations, or emergency incidents.
