Job Title: Data Scientist – AI/ML
Onsite 3 days per week - Atlantic City
Contract to hire

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, train, and deploy machine learning models using Azure Databricks to support retail and seasonal use cases such as customer segmentation, inventory optimization, and demand forecasting
• Build and deliver interactive tools and dashboards using Streamlit, Azure Data Apps, or Power BI to surface insights to business users
• Translate business challenges into scalable AI/ML solutions with measurable impact on merchandising, operations, and customer engagement
• Create repeatable workflows and production-grade pipelines for training, scoring, and monitoring models
• Collaborate closely with analytics, IT, merchandising, and supply chain teams to define priorities and ensure data-driven decision support
• Play a key role in shaping the data science roadmap, including helping define best practices, processes, and documentation standards
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to future team members as the data team scales
• Ensure data integrity, governance, and proper sourcing by working alongside data engineering partners

Required Skills and Experience:
• 4 or more years of experience in data science or machine learning, ideally within a retail, e-commerce, or consumer-facing environment
• Proficiency in Azure Databricks (Spark, MLflow, Delta Lake) and Python, with strong knowledge of core ML libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Experience building and deploying applications in Streamlit or integrating model outputs into Power BI dashboards
• Ability to distill complex technical topics into actionable insights for business stakeholders
• Familiarity with data governance and cataloging tools such as Alation
• Strong collaboration skills and a desire to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment

Great to Have:
• Experience supporting analytics in seasonal or high-velocity retail environments
• Familiarity with MLOps concepts, including CI/CD pipelines and automated model retraining
• Exposure to large-scale retail datasets including POS, loyalty, and supply chain systems
• Interest in contributing to the long-term development and structure of a growing data science team
