About the Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Leader to architect the operational systems that will power our next phase of growth. This is a critical leadership hire focused on transitioning a high-velocity engineering team from "startup chaos" to a scalable, high-performance organization without sacrificing speed or technical excellence.
Responsibilities
-
Architect Engineering Excellence: Define and institutionalize organizational standards for technical documentation, automated testing, code quality, and architectural reviews.
-
Operationalize Delivery: Establish robust frameworks for sprint planning, roadmap execution, and cross-functional priority setting to ensure total team alignment.
-
Own the Release Lifecycle: Design and manage end-to-end deployment procedures, including sophisticated monitoring, incident response protocols, and CI/CD pipelines.
-
Strategic Technical Leadership: Assume ownership of day-to-day technical decision-making and operational workflows, freeing executive leadership to focus on long-term strategy.
-
Team Mentorship & Culture: Guide the professional development of a high-caliber engineering team, fostering a collaborative culture between product, engineering, and operations.
Requirements (Must-have)
-
Proven Scale Experience: Significant experience leading engineering organizations (typically 10–50+ members) within high-growth startups or complex infrastructure environments.
-
Process Architect: A track record of building software development lifecycles from scratch, including on-call rotations, deployment pipelines, and engineering metrics.
-
Technical Depth: You remain technically sharp with recent experience (last 3-5 years) in production-grade code; you can perform deep-dive code reviews and debug complex production issues alongside the team.
-
First-Principles Approach: Ability to design bespoke processes tailored to a company’s specific stage and size rather than defaulting to "big tech" playbooks.
-
Startup Mindset: High-velocity operator who prioritizes ruthlessly and maintains a "low-ego" approach—willing to dive into the trenches to solve problems when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-have)
-
Experience with high-performance infrastructure, distributed systems, or Rust.
-
Previous experience in Web3, blockchain infrastructure, or high-stakes environments where uptime is critical.
-
Proven success leading an engineering team through the transition from early-stage growth to a structured, mid-sized organization.
