Title: Junior Security Analyst – PCI Compliance & AI Automation
Location: North Jersey — Hybrid, 4 days in office

Overview

We are seeking a Junior Security Analyst to support PCI compliance, day-to-day security activities, and the use of AI to automate recurring tasks. Working closely with the cybersecurity team, this person will help collect audit evidence, review security controls, track remediation efforts, and improve how security information is organized and reported.

The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of cybersecurity, strong attention to detail, and an interest in using AI tools and basic scripting to make security processes more efficient. This role offers hands-on experience with compliance and security operations, with guidance from senior team members.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support PCI compliance activities, including evidence collection, control reviews, audit preparation, and documentation.

  • Maintain compliance trackers and follow up with internal teams on outstanding evidence, remediation items, and deadlines.

  • Assist with access reviews, patching checks, vulnerability tracking, and other activities supporting PCI requirements.

  • Review findings from security tools under the guidance of senior team members, document issues, and track corrective actions.

  • Use approved AI tools to assist with recurring tasks such as organizing evidence, summarizing findings, drafting documentation, and preparing status reports.

  • Help develop simple scripts and workflows to streamline data collection, reporting, reminders, and remediation tracking.

  • Validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy and follow company requirements for handling sensitive information.

  • Assist with reviewing Windows and Linux security configurations, access permissions, and patch status alongside infrastructure teams.

  • Keep security procedures, control documentation, and audit records organized and current.

  • Collaborate with infrastructure, application, retail, and regional teams to gather information and move security tasks forward.

  • Prepare clear updates on compliance progress, open findings, and next steps.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT support, compliance support, or a related field. Relevant internships, coursework, and hands-on projects will be considered.

  • Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, including access controls, vulnerability management, patching, endpoint security, and logging.

  • Basic familiarity with Windows and/or Linux environments.

  • Understanding of PCI DSS or an interest in developing practical experience with security compliance and audit support.

  • Familiarity with AI tools and an interest in applying them to security documentation, reporting, and workflow automation.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and follow through on assigned tasks.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

  • Comfort working with Excel, SharePoint, Confluence, or similar documentation and tracking tools.

  • Willingness to learn new tools, ask questions, and work collaboratively with technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to PCI compliance activities or other security audits through work, internships, or academic projects.

  • Basic scripting experience with Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

  • Experience with workflow automation tools such as Power Automate or similar platforms.

  • Exposure to vulnerability scanners, endpoint detection and response tools, or security monitoring platforms.

  • Security+ or a similar entry-level security certification, completed or in progress.

  • Experience in retail, consumer brands, or distributed enterprise environments.

Work Environment

Hybrid schedule requiring four days per week in the North Jersey office, subject to company policy changes.
