About the Team
The Buyer Loyalty & Product Marketing team is responsible for driving meaningful customer growth and long-term loyalty by shaping the story and go-to-market strategy for new buyer-facing products and features. We work closely with cross-functional partners to bring products to market and to drive engagement well beyond launch.
This team operates at a fast pace and is deeply motivated by connecting buyers and sellers in ways that build trust and confidence. Product Marketing serves as a critical bridge between Product and Marketing, offering a unique, end-to-end view of how ideas become experiences for buyers across the Etsy platform.
About the Role
As a Product Marketing contractor, you will operate at the intersection of consumer product development and marketing. You’ll lead go-to-market strategy, product activation, and lifecycle engagement efforts designed to maximize buyer value across the funnel.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with product teams focused on trust and reliability experiences, helping articulate customer value, shape product delivery, and execute effective launches. You’ll also advocate for marketing needs within the product development process to ensure roadmaps support broader growth and brand strategies.
You’ll work in a highly cross-functional capacity, collaborating with Product, Engineering, Design, Brand, Content, Analytics, Research, and Marketing to improve the buyer experience through thoughtful, data-informed marketing that drives trial, engagement, and retention.
What You’ll Do

Own the product marketing strategy for buyer trust and reliability features, driving awareness, adoption, and ongoing engagement.

Define and narrate the end-to-end buyer journey by uncovering user insights and identifying the most impactful opportunities to inform product roadmaps.

Lead competitive and market analysis to inform positioning and go-to-market plans.

Partner with Product, Marketing, and Brand teams to determine what to launch, how to launch it, where it should show up, and which audiences to prioritize—balancing user needs with business objectives across global markets.

Define target audiences and develop clear positioning and messaging that articulates Etsy’s unique value for buyers.

Serve as a key connector between Product and Marketing, ensuring strong alignment throughout development, launch, and post-launch phases.

Collaborate with channel owners to develop integrated on-site and off-site marketing plans.

Establish clear, measurable goals for product marketing initiatives, track performance, and continuously optimize for impact.
This role will evolve over time and may include additional responsibilities as business needs change.
Requirements

5–7 years of consumer product marketing experience, ideally within a multi-market or global context.

Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform strategy and craft compelling narratives; SQL proficiency is a plus.

Proven experience driving growth through product marketing strategies and campaigns, particularly within mobile-first environments.

Deep experience partnering with B2C product teams, with a strong command of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Ability to simplify complex product concepts into clear, compelling marketing stories.

Demonstrated success collaborating with and influencing cross-functional teams while building strong, trusted relationships.
