Job Title: Senior Enterprise Data Platform Architect
Location: New York, NY (Flexible Hybrid)
A global professional services organization is seeking a Senior Enterprise Data Platform Architect to join its Technology organization. This individual will play a key leadership role in shaping and modernizing the firm’s enterprise data ecosystem to support complex financial and operational analytics initiatives.
Role Overview
The Senior Enterprise Data Platform Architect will lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance data platforms capable of supporting advanced reporting, forecasting, and operational intelligence across a global environment. This role will establish and execute enterprise data architecture standards, optimize data movement across systems, and ensure that analytical structures are robust, reconciled, and built for long-term scalability.
The position requires hands-on technical leadership and close partnership with engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to streamline data flows, accelerate reporting capabilities, and implement consistent governance standards across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and implement scalable data platform solutions leveraging modern cloud data technologies to support both real-time and batch analytical workloads
• Develop and optimize data ingestion and transformation pipelines using distributed processing frameworks and modern scripting languages
• Design and maintain analytical data models that support enterprise reporting, executive dashboards, and forecasting initiatives
• Lead integration efforts across core business systems, ensuring accuracy, reconciliation, and structural alignment within centralized data environments
• Establish governance frameworks including lineage tracking, metadata standards, and quality controls
• Drive performance tuning efforts and cost optimization strategies across compute and storage layers
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, analytics, finance, and operational teams to translate business needs into technical architecture
• Evaluate and recommend emerging data technologies and architectural improvements
Required Qualifications
• 8+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or BI engineering roles
• Hands-on experience architecting solutions on Databricks and/or Snowflake
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and Spark
• Deep understanding of data modeling principles (3NF, star/snowflake schemas, data vault)
• Proven experience designing data lakes and lakehouse architectures
• Strong familiarity with financial data structures, accounting schemas, and legal practice management systems such as Aderant or Elite 3E
• Experience building data solutions to support financial planning, billing, profitability, and time & expense analytics
• Experience working with AWS, Azure, or GCP (Databricks, Snowflake, S3, Delta Lake), Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Clear technical communication and documentation skills
• Ability to influence and align technical direction across teams
Preferred Certifications
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer / Architect or Snowflake SnowPro Advanced: Architect
• TOGAF or other enterprise data architecture credentials
